Children
and domestic violence: Those most in need of help are
least able to help themselves.
Children
who live in violent homes always get hurt, even if
they aren’t directly abused. Because what they
see and hear can be every bit as damaging to their
spirits as
physical or sexual violence is to their bodies. And
we know that children who grow up in violent homes
are likely
to become abusive adults.
At
Safe Harbor, we are especially responsive to the children
we help. We give them lots of personal attention in addition
to programs that help them learn good ways of dealing with
conflict and anger. For more information about our children’s
services, Contact
us.
Each
year, an estimated 3.3 to 10 million children are at risk
of witnessing domestic violence in the U.S.
